North Shore Chicago Construction Worker Killed | F.E. Moran Fire Protection

Winnetka, IL -- A construction worker was killed while working on constructing a home in Winnetka.

The 68 year old construction worker was killed on Wednesday when he fell 12 feet and hit a beam.  "The construction worker was seriously injured when the beam hit him," said Winnetka Fire Chief Alan Berkowsky.  The worker had to be extricated from the site and taken to the hospital.

The construction worker ultimately died a short time later at the hospital.

OSHA is investigating the site.

"It's being investigated as a construction site accident and not a criminal investiagtion," said Marc Hornstein, Shift Commander at Winnetka Police Department.
