United Kingdom -- A fire ignited at a plastics factory in the UK, but was quickly extinguished thanks to the fire sprinkler system.
The fire ignited Sunday night in an industrial oven at a plastics factory. Two crews reported to the fire and extinguished what was left of the flames.
Acting watch manager Chris Archer said, "The fire was controlled by the site's sprinkler system, without which the fire would have spread to adjacent machinery and products stored in racking. This incident highlighted the benefits of installing sprinklers in controlling fire in its early stages."
The industrial oven was destroyed in the fire. The warehouse suffered some water and smoke damage.
