Dozens Displaced After Fire Burns Through Stores and Apartments | F.E. Moran Fire Protection

Oceanside, Long Island -- A massive fire burned through a row of stores and apartments, leaving 60 people displaced.

The fire started in a convenience store around 4:30am and spread through several stores and an apartment building.  Five buildings were involved in the fire, with one building burning to the ground.

Long Beach Road was closed for a six-block stretch through Oceanside.

Dozens of firefighters worked for hours to battle the blaze and bring it under control.

All residents evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
