Lightning Strike Causes Middle School Fire | F.E. Moran Fire Protection

Navarre, OH -- Crews responded to a fire at Fairless Middle School on Tuesday morning, following a lightning strike.

The Brewster Fire Department reported that a fire was reported at 6:30am.  The fire started as a result of a lightning strike at the school.

The fire only affected the roof decking.  However, water damage from fire hoses reached classrooms under the fire area.

Students who arrived at the school after the incident were taken to the local high school to be picked up by their parents.  The school's events were cancelled.
