Tear Gas Sparks Fire, Killing Suspect

Fremont, CA -- A traffic stop led to a suspect shooting at two police officers.  The suspect fled, causing the police officers to chase him.  The suspect fled to a nearby home.  After hours of waiting, the police shot tear gas into the home.  The tear gas sparked a fire, burning the home to the ground and killing the suspect.

Police arrested two other suspects from the traffic stop.  The man who died in the fire is identified as 44 year old Gerald Villabrille Jr.  

One of the police officers is still in the hospital in critical condition.
