LACEY — The entire heating system in a house damaged during Superstorm Sandy was stolen, Lacey police said.
All of the hot water baseboard copper piping system was removed from the unoccupied house on Maui Drive in the Forked River section of the township, police said. The thieves also stole pipes, fixtures, and sinks sometime between April 2 and April 22.
The owner returned to check on the residence at 5:30 p.m. Monday and also found that some exterior gutters and downspouts had also been taken.
The owner hasn't determined the value of the stolen items yet, police added.
