Man Killed in Brazos River Construction Accident Identified

The body of a construction worker who died when the equipment he was tethered to toppled into the Brazos River was found and identified as Joe Dario Duarez, 55.
"He was still attached to the equipment with his safety harness and floatation devices," said Waco police sgt. W. Patrick Swanton.
He and another construction worker were working on a pedestrian bridge that connects Baylor University to the school's football stadium. Both workers went into the river when a man-lift platform they were tethered to toppled into the water. The other construction worker got loose from his tether and swam to the surface. However, Suarez was still tethered when he was found.
