When a western Kentucky jail got tired of calling the Regional Water Resource Agency to unstop clogs multiple times a week, they came up with a unique solution.  Fish hooks.

Inmates were flushing everything down the toilet out of boredom:  blankets, jeans, pillows.  Those toilets would take just about anything, so the jail installed fish hooks inside the pipes to catch foreign items.

Jail employee David Osborne said that the hooks allow employees to pull out the large objects before they became a bigger problem.

"These commodes are capable of flushing anything.  I guess [the inmates] are just bored," said Osborne.
