History

With a history spanning more than five decades, F.E. Moran is a leader in the design and installation of large, medium and small mechanical heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems in Northern Illinois. F.E. Moran is a full-service mechanical contractor and has been involved with nearly every major HVAC project in the Chicago area for the past 30 years. These projects include: Commercial high rise buildings, hospitals, educational facilities, laboratories, retail centers, upscale tenant spaces, major convention centers, and entertainment facilities. SMACNA member F.E. Moran, Inc. of Nothbrook,Ill has been mastering a nearly impossible job-surmounting the challenges of vertical construction by installing half a million pounds of ductwork in one of the country's tallest hospitals, the new Ann and Robert H. Lurie Childrens Hospital in Chicago.

It took no time for F.E. Moran Inc., a commercial HVACR contractor in Northbrook, Ill., to incorporate the Quick Flange design into its most highly visible project: a massive ductwork installation in the mechanical room on the 10th floor of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

Chicago's Chase Tower was middle-aged and out of breath. Built in 1969, the 2.4 million sq. ft., 60-Story skyscraper was slowing down thanks to an inefficient mechanical infrastructure and souring energy prices. An overhaul of the building's mechanical systems was inevitable.
