The dinosaur eggs were found when road work was underway in Heyuan City. The city is nicknamed, "Home of Dinosaurs" because they won a Guinness World Record for the largest collection of dinosaur eggs in the world. The city is home to 17,000 dinosaur eggs. The first were found in 1996 by children playing at a construction site.
Researchers are examining the fossils to determine which species they belong to. Nineteen of the forty-three fossils were completely in tact and some were as large as 5 inches wide.
